It was around this time I overheard my roommate's boyfriend telling her about this revolutionary new phone app. A text generator capable of answering any question, researching any topic, or handling any sort of tedious data management. Well, at least in the future. It's still kind of a gimmick more than anything right now.

While on break, I happen to catch the TV playing a news segment covering the trend of marketers working with sleep researchers to sneak advertisements into our dreams. Losing interest I check my phone and see a meme someone posted about how some scientists somewhere got lab grown human brain cells to play "DOOM".

Not too long after, I moved to a new town to live with my partner. I wasn't exactly having the same dream every night anymore, but they were all consolidated to the same 'universe'. Despite how weird it all was, I was starting to find some comfort in it.

Life goes on and one day I randomly remember the news report I saw last year about putting ads in our dreams. I try to find whatever came of all the research but it seems like it all went quiet. Some researchers were too concerned about the ethical implications and stopped pursuing it, at least publicly.

The news now talks about these large monuments being constructed across the country, computers that span the length of entire neighborhoods made to house these new text generators. Their power and water consumption no different from a real community.

Another year has passed. I don't think it's right to say i have dreams anymore. When I sleep, it's something much more abstract, unexplainable, artificial? Every morning I wake up feeling a little overwhelmed, like my brain was working through the night without me even realizing it.

Sometimes when caught between states of sleeping & waking, I feel like I see flashes of computer programming. My dreams are now gone entirely.]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Documents/the%20function%20of%20dreams.txt Thu, 23 Jul 2026 10:54:00 -0400 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/rotroom.jpg Thu, 18 Jun 2026 16:20:00 -0400 ]]> ive also gone thru and also added some my back catalog as well so everything looks all filled out and nice in one place. okay now i need go make more stuff basicially or something i love u ttyl autumn https://rottingwife.com Tue, 28 Apr 2026 15:16:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/maybethistime-v2.jpg Fri, 17 Apr 2026 09:40:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/rotting%20wife/everydrop.jpg Mon, 13 Apr 2026 12:25:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/rotting%20wife/attentionspan.jpg Sat, 11 Apr 2026 23:10:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/silverplatter1.png Mon, 09 Mar 2026 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/IMG_1065.jpg Fri, 30 May 2025 23:15:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/memory.jpg Wed, 13 Nov 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/postcard.png Wed, 13 Nov 2024 11:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/whitegirlboogie.gif Fri, 01 Nov 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/nevercatchme.jpg Sat, 26 Oct 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/rosesfromyourcomputer.png Mon, 07 Oct 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/psyche.jpg Tue, 01 Oct 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/abandon.jpg Mon, 30 Sep 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/tranad2.jpg Tue, 10 Sep 2024 12:01:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/tranad.jpg Tue, 10 Sep 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/letsdie.png Fri, 06 Sep 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/partake2.jpg Thu, 05 Sep 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/flesh.jpg Wed, 04 Sep 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/movingparts.png Mon, 02 Sep 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/game.jpg Wed, 28 Aug 2024 12:01:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/weapon.png Wed, 28 Aug 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/cleanpan.png Tue, 27 Aug 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/mygoodbud.png Sun, 25 Aug 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/dreams.png Fri, 23 Aug 2024 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/guardianangel.png Sun, 23 Apr 2023 12:01:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/beast.png Sun, 23 Apr 2023 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/transreligion.png Mon, 24 Apr 2023 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> autumn https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/deadgovt.png Sat, 22 Apr 2023 12:00:00 -0500 ]]> https://rottingwife.com/Users/Autumn/Pictures/hackedbiology.png autumn Fri, 21 Apr 2023 20:11:00 -0500
